Study on the properties of attapulgite/brucite powder/natural rubber composites

Study on the properties of attapulgite/brucite powder/natural rubber composites. A new composite material was prepared by adding attapulgite (AT) and brucite powder as fillers to natural rubber (NR). Research shows that this composite material not only has good mechanical properties, but also has significantly improved flame retardant properties.

Natural rubber is widely used in many fields because of its good elasticity and wear resistance. However, natural rubber itself does not have flame retardant properties, and its heat resistance and mechanical properties need to be improved. Attapulgite and brucite powder, as two fillers with good flame retardancy and reinforcing properties, are used in natural rubber to improve its comprehensive properties.

Materials: attapulgite (AT), brucite powder, natural rubber (NR).

Preparation method: Fill attapulgite and brucite powder into natural rubber through mechanical blending to prepare composite materials.

Performance testing: Tensile testing is used to evaluate mechanical properties, and oxygen index testing is used to evaluate flame retardant properties.

Mechanical properties: Through tensile testing, it was found that as the content of attapulgite and brucite powder increases, the tensile strength and elongation at break of the composite material increase.

Flame retardant performance: Oxygen index test shows that the flame retardant performance of composite materials increases with the increase of attapulgite and brucite powder content.

Synergistic effect: Research shows that the combination of attapulgite and brucite powder produces a good synergistic effect in composite materials, helping to improve the overall performance of composite materials.

The preparation of attapulgite/brucite powder/natural rubber composite materials not only improves the mechanical properties of natural rubber, but also significantly improves its flame retardant properties. This composite material provides a new way to develop high-performance natural rubber materials.
